Hummingbird X Nathan Ingram
In 2026, Hummingbird Coffee invited Nathan Ingram to reinterpret Signal-1 as part of the ‘It’s Giving Art’ campaign.
Originally created as a large-scale public artwork in central Christchurch, the collaboration explores how artwork can evolve beyond its original setting and take on new life through product design, retail environments and public-facing media.

"Seeing the work move from public space into packaging, products and city-wide advertising reinforced my interest in how context shapes meaning. While the visual language remained recognisable, the experience of the work changed completely as it moved into new environments and reached new audiences."
